WHAT IS HAPPENING: This is the traditional annual Hastings Old Town Pram Race. We have a group of lovely people who enjoy an occasional drink and support the Hastings Old Town into the bargain have fun by constructing a pedestrian propelled type vehicle, which at one time resembled a PRAM. Although most entrants do build around a pram others try and improvise. Although within the rules “please do not ask for a set of rules there are some but best left in the drawer” come up with all sorts of vehicles. Many of which having not had enough, do enter the famous Hastings Old Town Carnival Parade three days later. Their aim is to tour the Old Town pushing their Prams in Fancy Dress (you have to see), shaking collecting pots and hoping for lots of money, most of which comes from some very generous people who may be slightly in a generous mood, need I say why.

ROUTE: Start-The Cutter-Finish- The Cutter.

Race assembly-The Cutter and queuing down West Street.
Start. West Street going west into Marine Parade to George Street at the Albion Public House.
Right into George Street East to High Street. North to Roebuck Street for some, some take the footway adjacent to The First in and Last Out. All make their way to All Saints Street at the northern end. Then its South to Rock-a-nore Road turn right cross The Bourne to East Beach Street and into West Street home and FINISH Phew. Marshals will be on hand to escort Prams ACROSS The Bourne north and south.
