Special Meal Deal for Hastings Week - Mostly meals for two people and only £10.66 | |
Message from the Mayor - 2009 It is amazing that a year has passed and another Hastings Week has arrived. I would urge you to support the variety of events which many people have worked so hard to plan in celebration of this very special day in the town's calendar. Since the first celebration of Hastings Day, the single day has grown into ten 'jammed-packed' days with activities to suit everyone. I, together with my Deputy, Councillor Eve Martin, will endeavour to attend as many events as we can and I look forward to meeting you throughout the week. Councillor Maureen Charlesworth |

A note from the Chair - 2009
Portrait by Juliette Dodd |
Another Hastings Week has arrived enabling Hastings and 1066 Country to celebrate the 943rd Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings when the British Army was defeated. This year, being the 40th Anniversary of the Mini, and with both the Classic Car Show and the "Spratt & Winkle" Historic Commercial run from Sevenoaks to Hastings, we have decided to make the theme for the week "Wheels". This will also be the theme for the Best Dressed Window competition in the Old Town. The programme lists more than 100 events this year, and I am sure that everyone will find something to enjoy or take part in, including jazz, music, exhibitions, walks, classic cars, a market, etc., ending with the bonfire and fireworks display.
This year we are introducing the £10.66 Meal Deal offer where you will be able to purchase a meal for two in selected eating houses for only £10.66. See the pull-out supplement in the centre of this programme for full details of this fantastic offer. My sincere thanks to the Hastings Week Committee and to Hastings Borough Council, especially Kevin Boorman, Marketing Manager and Sarah Crosby without whose help this exciting week would not take place Ian Porter |
