Some of the lucky recipients of cash collected during Hastings Old Town Carnival Week with the President and the Chairman and members of Hastings Old Town Carnival Committee.
Sunday night, 1st November at the East Hastings Sea Angling Club saw the distribution of funds collected during the recent Hastings Old Town Carnival Week. A very well-attended evening was MC’d by Charlie Sharrod and, as a one-off, 31 good causes were awarded £200 each and 5 organisations considered to be extra-deserving received £1000 each - This level of award was achieved because the committee felt that the reserve fund could safely be reduced and essential carnival costs for the next couple of years would still be safely met but it does mean that it is unlikely that this level of award will be repeated in future years. A special trophy was awarded to the RNLI for the largest amount of money collected and a special award made to East Hastings Sea Angling Association for all the help that they have given to the Carnival Association in the course of the past year.
