Friday 24th January 2014 Hastings Old Town Carnival Court at the Hastings Week Bowskill Trophy Awards.

Laylah and Carnival Queen Beth (Miss Hastings) at the Town Hall with Chaperone Nadine and Chaperone Sian. Cheyenne wqas unwell and couldn't attend. The Court was complemented by Hastings Week Chair Nigel on all the appearances they were able to put in during Hastings Week.

Hastings Week - October 12th - 20th Celebrating the Battle of Hastinga in 1066 The court, in their other identity as "Miss Hastings and her attendants", took part in a lot of the festivities and celebtations




Hastings Week - October 19th - Judging the windows in High Street & George Street

Saturday 19th saw a very wet afternoon but this didn't deter the girls from judging the shop windows in High Street and George Street. The Theme was 'Colours of the Rainbow' and this year's colour was red, so the windows display had to include an element of red. The winner of the Pam Brown Trophy was 'Equilibrium' in George Street and the runner-up, winning the Ray Goode Trophy was Serenity Hair & Beauty in High Street. Quite a few of the pictures were spoiled by getting rain on the camera lens and that included the Tattoo Parlour in George Street that was 'Highly Commended' The standard was very high and it was very difficult to choose the winner.

The Seaboot Race - In memory of Peter Trickett, an Old Towner who died in 2002. Fastest runner wearing seaboots along the length of Courthouse Street, round a lobster pot, and back. Timed certificates presented to all entrants. The winner is presented with Peter Trickett’s walking stick, to be held for one year.

Photo: Alun Sambrook The esteemed Federation of Independent Carnivals held their first 2013 function on Saturday, 18th.May, at the Masonic Hall, St.Leonards. The hire of the hall was kindly waived in support of Carnival, and the Committee which needs all the support it can get, appreciate very much both this very kind gesture, and the magnificent welcome and friendly help they gave us. HASTINGS OLD TOWN CARNIVAL ASSOCIATION (H.O.T.C.A) hosted eight visiting Courts from Kent and Sussex, and a most successful evening closed with our Hastings Queen, Bethany Hill and her two Princesses Leyla Dobinson and Cheyenne Mischewski with Chaperones and friends scooping FIRST PRIZE and the Trophy for the Best Decorated Table.Hastings also won THIRD Prize for the Group Fancy Dress Competition. First Prize was won by Deal.
