Hastings at Faversham Carnival

The Court took part in Faversham Carnival with last years Queen Leylah standing in as princess. They picked up 3rd place Court of the Day which means the court has won an award in every away carnival they have been to throughout the season.

Big thanks to the association making the court float look all lit up during the parade.

Court of Kent Senior Dinner, 19 September 2015

Hastings Old Town Carnival Queen & Court

Saturday, 19 September,

Hastings Old Town Carnival may have come and gone but The Court are still working, they went to Dover to attend the Court of Kent Senior Dinner, this is a black tie and silver service event. There were 15 other Courts from around Kent, once again our girls did us proud and won Court of the Evening. This is the first time in the 18 years that this event has taken place that Hastings has won. We should say a big 'thank you' to Sian Hamilton who is their chaperone and keeps their dresses and regalia in pristine condition.

Once again the Carnival Court did well at Aylesham Carnival, they were awarded 3 prizes, 2nd for Court of the Day, 2nd for the tableaux and 3rd for the float, they were competing against 15 other Courts, some as far away as Corby.   It has been an exceptional year, every event they have attended they have won prizes and Hastings can be very proud of 'their girls' they have represented us well.   Two more Carnivals to attend, watch this space!

The court with Hastings Old Town Carnival Chair, Robert Morgan who has been associated with the festivities for many years, first with his famous 'Morgan's Train' and, for the past half dozen years as Chairman of the Carnival Association. Robert has been blessed with the task of co-ordinating the committee of unpaid volunteers without whom there would be no Carnival or Pram Race.

Sunday,5th July, Dover

Hastings Old Town Carnival CourtOn Sunday,5th July, the Old Town Carnival Court went to Dover, after a rainy start the sun came out for the parade around Dover Town.

Our Court had a very successful day, we came third in the Court floats, second in the tableau and our lovely Chloe came second in the Queen of Queen's, there were twelve other Courts from around Kent so the competition was great. This is only our second outing so we are doing really well and it was a most enjoyable day.

The 2015 parade season has started. The court were at Lydd Club Day 2015 and Chloe won the Visiting Queen of Queens Award.

Fo
r the first time in 13 years
the Hastings Old Town Court won first prize at Lydd's Club Day and Parade, The float was a Fairy Garden Paradise and with the beautiful Court this year looked outstanding, it really had the WOW factor.    It was a cold and windy day at Lydd but the Court brought a ray of sunshine to the scene, as they drove round Lydd and received a very good reception with much applause.   The team are now looking forward to our next Carnival in Dover on the 5th July.
