Earlier in the evening the girls had been introduced to the judges by last year’s Carnival Queen, Elle Shoesmith in the committee room at the Angling club, before being called up one by one to be judged

The difficult decision of deciding who was going to be Hastings Old Town Carnival Queen 2013, Miss Hastings, and her court was to be made by five judges, left to right, Sian Hamilton, Julie Young from Serenity Hair & Beauty, Hastings' Mayor, Cllr. Alan Roberts, Trish Sharrod and former lifeboat coxwain Charlie Sharrod. The photograph gives an idea of who else was there, That’s Bill Wicking, Hastings Old Town Carnival, Life President, on the left and just behind the Mayor are 2002 Carnival Queen Lucie Hide along with 2011 Queen April Grant with 2011 Princess Lucy Richardson. Hastings Week Chairman, Nigel Hogben can be seen right at the back with Elle, Kevin Boorman, Publicity Manager for Hastings Borough Council is just in front of Elle.

Finallists, winners, Carnival Committee members pose at the end of the evening. The flowers were by "Friends Flowers" at the Conquest Hospital - you can find them just to the right as you enter the hospital main entrance.
