8.30pm - 11.30pm OPENING OF INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL.
Grand Gala Concert at the 1066 jazz Club, High Beech Hotel, Eisenhower Drive (off Battle Road), St. Leonards. The Internationally renowned Max Lager's New Orleans' Stompers from Sweden. Plus boogie piano master Colin 'Barrelhouse' Banagan.

9.30am OPENING CEREMONY
The flag pole site at the end of the eastern Precinct (Castle Street/Pelham Crescent). Standard Bearers, ex- Servicemen, Cadets, Scouts and Guides assemble. One Cadet on duty at each flag pole.The 1066 Pipe Band and Drums march from theTown Hall headed by Hastings'Town Crier Jonathan Bartholomew. Upon command (Sgt. Major Pelling) the flags will be raised, the Union, the Borough and the Euro representing our Country, our Town and our Twin Towns.The Mayor, Clir. Phil Scott will declare THE WEEK open.

11am BATTLE ABBEY. THE BATTLE OF HASTINGS 1066 -THE LAST SAXON KING.
One of the most important dates in English history. Learn how the conflict came about and witness the clashing of swords and shields as the Norman knights' battle against Saxon warriors in a recreation of this most famous battle. Royal Heritage.

led by HASTINGS BOROUGH BONFIRE SOCIETY and Giant Guy. TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION starts from The Stade car park through All Saints Street over The Bourne, down High Street to meet up with many other Sussex Bonfire Societies back at The Stade then along the sea front on to the Town Hall.
8.15pm the Mayor, Councillors and Town Criers join head of procession and move on to the entrance of Robertson Street for America's Ground Ceremony, then on to Fire Site.

8.30pm JAZZ BALLAD SINGER CHRIS HUTCHINSON,
the Mellow 'D' man performs at Pissaro's Cafe/Bar, South Terrace, Hastings.

2.30pm THE GONFALON CEREMONY.
As the audience assembles in the Castle Grounds Sussex Brass Band will entertain. Standard bearers, Ex. Servicemen, Cadets, Scouts and Guides will assemble at the gates of Hastings Castle and upon command will be led by the 1066 Pipe Band and Drums and take up their positions in the main arena. The drums are placed in altar formation for the Drum Head Service.The Mayor and other dignatories will join the Chairman at the V.1.P stand. 
On command the assembly will turn to face the main flag pole and the 'Gonfalon' will be raised to the sound of drums by the Cinque Ports Volunteers. Returning to positions the Service will commence led by the Revd. Philip Coekin, rector of Emmanuel Church and hymns will be sung. The Mayor, Cllr. P Scott will give his address of welcome and the Entertainment will commence.

2. Kit Car Assembly by the Sussex Army Cadets. 
3. Band Concert by the 1066 Pipe Band & Drums. 
On command (Sgt.Maj. Pelling) the stand is set for BEATING THE RETREAT.The Mayor and Capt Penfold to take the salute. The Union Flag is lowered.

Photography Exhibition. The children of the FELLOWSHIP OF ST NICHOLAS Photography Workshop looked at all aspects of St. Matthews Gardens as a year long photography project.
