EVENTS IN THE OLD TOWN

Monday 11th October

The "Doodlebug Trail" - (A Pub Invasion around the Old Town) Starts at Lord Nelson at 6.30pm. Teams to register at Lord Nelson.

Thursday 14th October (Hastings Day)

Part of High Street & all of Roebuck closed to traffic 6.00pm to 11.00pm for "Street Party" with buildings decorated in WWII style, and traders and residents in WWII costume and uniform with non-stop Free Entertainment.

Mayor of Hastings & Hastings Town Crier will be there.

All Children will be "tagged" and numbered as evacuees. A draw will be held at the end of the evening, and the winner will be presented with a prize.

All Week

High Street and George Street decorated in WWII style with Shop Windows taped to prevent Bomb Blast, etc.

Rhoda's Restaurant & Bistro (in High Street) will sell WWII food from authentic 1940's recipe books, and will be open during the Street Party to> offer a special menu.

Evacuees from WWII are invited to visit Brenda Wilson at The Flower Museum in the High Street to share reminiscences of their evacuation. (Mon - Fri. 2.00pm to 4.00pm)

ISABEL BLACKMAN CENTRE

For the entire week the Centre will be decorated with bunting, WWII posters, artefacts, etc.

Daily events will include a "Hastings" Raffle (all items will be Hastings related), Tombola, "Name the Teddy", Art Display, Karaoke (clients will be encouraged to sing WWII songs), a Hastings Quiz, In-House Cinema showing WWII films, etc. 1940's music will be played throughout the week.

On Hastings day, local residents and traders will be welcome to drop in for a coffee and biscuits.

Monday 11th 1940-1945 Quiz 8.30pm
Tuesday 12th Hop-pickers Night with original English Folk Music & a Hop-pickers Dinner 9.00-11.00pm
Wednesday 13th "The Yanks are Coming" with American Music & Songs and Yankee Food 8.00pm
Thursday 14th "Low Flying Spitfire Prices" with 1940's Music. 8.00pm
